Ageing gracefully
Getting older is replete with emotional landmines, no matter how liberal and open-minded we try to embrace it.
Ageing can be especially hard on women who are transitioning from their carefree 20s and 30s to the milestone 40s. Suddenly, we start to notice every tiny crease on our face and gray strands of our hair. The once cute crinkles are now a mainstay on our faces as full-on crow’s feet.
Women know that the means to ageing gracefully are simple – a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet and enough exercise. But we also realise that these are easier said than done. What with our jobs, family and the daily grind we contend with, exercise or even sleep can become a major indulgence!
So in our fight against ageing, we welcome all the help we can get. We turn to experts, supplements and helpful information to get fit with as little fuss as possible. For your nutrition guidelines, we highlight eight best foods packed with anti-ageing benefits on page 58. Thinking of alternative means to retard ageing? Chiropractic can be your best bet. On page 28, understand how chiropractic care can actually help slow down ageing by simply aligning our spines. And of course, we can’t talk about anti-ageing and not touch on the topics of collagen and plastic surgery. Whether you want to have a procedure as simple as eye bag removal or as complicated as a breast lift, get the lowdown first on what you need to consider before embarking on plastic surgery, on page 22.
To give our tiny hearts a little tug (It’s a good anti-ageing, too!) we got boyish singer and songwriter Hagen Troy to grace our cover this issue, allowing us a glimpse of his personality that makes him an inspiration to the young and the young at heart.
As a woman who tries hard not to let her hair go gray and arms jiggle, I believe there’s really nothing wrong with trying to preserve our youthful looks. But let us not forget that beyond every wrinkle and laugh line, what really matters is finding a balance between accepting the fact that ageing is inevitable and doing what we can to stay fit and healthy as possible.
On another happy note, congratulations are in order for everyone at Ezyhealth & Beauty Magazine on a job well done! We have been ranked 2nd Place in the Health Magazine of the Year Category by the Magazine
