Simple steps to staying young
Healthy lifestyle and supplements to help you look and feel young
Ageing is a natural process and cannot be reversed, but there are things that we can do to prevent premature and more aggressive ageing effects to our bodies. A healthy, balanced diet is absolutely essential to staying young. However, supplements can be used to top up nutrient intake if our diet has been less than adequate.
Steps to stay young
Eat healthy diet that contain fruits and vegetables, and avoid junk food. Eating lots of processed foods that are high in saturated or trans fats, sugar, salt, preservatives and additives can lead to the release of free radicals in our body. Free radicals are harmful chemicals that play a part in ageing and illness by damaging cells.
Fruits and vegetables provide vital nutrients and contain antioxidants that can clear up free radicals. Antioxidants that do this vital job include vitamins C and E and beta-carotene. They can be found in fruits and vegetables like carrots, tomatoes, capsicum, cabbage, broccoli, apricots, berries and citrus fruits.
Regular exercise or moderate intensity exercise for at least 30 minutes on fi ve or more occasions per week is excellent to reduce the risk of age-related diseases, such as heart disease.
Smoking increases free radicals formation, hence, quitting smoking will stop further damage to our body and reduce the risk of smoking-related disease.
Limit exposure to sun’s rays, as too much can lead to UV damage that causes skin ageing, such as wrinkles, as well as skin cancers.
Drink enough water to get fresh skin. Water helps to hydrate the skin and
removes impurities from the body.
