Having quality sleep is very important. Besides having a good mattress and uninterrupted sleep, a good pillow can raise the quality of sleep. First, we must ensure that our shoulders are well rested on our pillow. Second, the thickness and hardness of our mattress, pillow and bolster should be an important consideration. And third, our sleeping position must be correct: Sleep with your back flat down or sleep on your right side. It is not advisable to sleep on your left side, as this will put pressure on our heart. -Koh Lee Hua

First thing that comes to mind is having a good quality mattress, a superior mattress that ensures good posture and is shaped to body contours. It determines your quality of sleep, and thus the quality of the life you lead, as it reduces the chances of having backaches, sprains and pains when you start your day. Secondly, it is imperative to have supporting neck pillows. Find one that works for you and it will work like a charm and reward you with a comfortable sleep and good posture. Lastly, exercise when you wake up in the morning. Light exercises such as stretching and jogging help to improve posture and prevent back problems. -Jasmine Goh

Good pillows are very helpful in helping to improve our posture while sleeping. If you are used to sleeping on your side, make sure to place a pillow under your head and another pillow in between your knees. If you’re the kind who usually sleeps on your back, place a pillow under your lower back to help maintain the curve of your spine. Try not to sleep on your stomach often, as this can cause back and neck strain when you wake up the following morning. -Celeste MoresNovember’s winners will each receive a set of Youth & You Slumber Treasures Series Precious Pillow + Neck and Posture check-up (worth $368 each set) from Natural Healings.
